President Election-Democratic!
2/20/2008 1:40 PM

President Election-Democratic! By Sheng Thao Democrats go into 2008 with the feeling that this will be their year. One reason was that their candidates have out raised their Republican counterparts. “ They have a better chance,” Su Lee, a Johnson sophomore, said. Most of results of asking Johnson students about their liking of Democratic or no, but most of the student said that Democratic helps lots of lower class and health. With the decision between picking the Democratic or Republican party will maybe bring back the American Dream that was in 1952. According to what Kia Lor, a Johnson Junior student answered that they are good for people that are in the middle class, and benefit them to have a better life than today.” Republican candidates are McCain and Giuliani, which are two candidates that run strong with Independents. For the Democratic candidates, which aren’t really strong are Hillary Clinton and Obama. Some of these candidates challenge will be to change their opponents into supporters, rather than to do the opposite. Most of the students I asked they said that they would love to have the Democratic party into the White House because they might give a change in America. To people that doesn’t know what Democratic are they are one of the two major parties in the United States. The other party is Republican, and the other one, obviously is the Democratic Party. The Democrats hold a majority of state governorships and control some parts of state legislatures. The American Dream deals with the president election because a nation should have a dream. A dream that is not about today, but the American Dream is seeing our children’s and grandchildren’s lives improve happily, educationally, and in their personal safety. So as a nation we can regain the American Dream again. Some student said that lots of things today just total went out of handle because we chose the wrong leader. We chose the wrong leader because some people out there doesn’t really care who is the leader or not or they just don’t vote because of some reasons. Some people I knew they said some of their parent doesn’t want to vote because they don’t want to be a jury, which is total fine, but there aren’t a lot of people that are like this, but there are more people that should vote to make our nation a better place for us. One thing that should be solved is Healthcare because there are lots of people that don’t get medical care because they don’t have the right money to provide care for themselves. According to what Youa Thao said that there would be lots of lives left if the Healthcare was taken care of. So, I think that the president election is really significant because it will affect our future.
