Chris Nelson by Tyler Coleman 2/4/2008 1:42 PMHe was born in Midway Hospital, pushed carts for Cub Foods, and now coaches soccer and teaches students at JHS such topics as World History, Foundations, Plaque, Pox, and Pestilence, and many more. He is Mr. Chris Nelson. This “proud St. Paul Born citizen” is husband to Meg Nelson, and father to his two “known” children Elizabeth and Katherine Nelson.
So The Courier decided to do and exclusive interview with this hilariously crazy teacher.
TC: Have you ever been arrested?
CN: Arrested? Or Convicted?
TC: Either or.
CN: No.
TC: How long have you been teaching?
CN: 14 years but it feels like 50.
TC: What’s your favorite color?
CN: Ummmm…..blue.
TC: Do you have any animals or pets?
CN: No.
TC: When did you graduate and at what high school?
CN: I graduated from Minnetonka as a Skipper in 1987.
TC: What college did you go to?
CN: I went to the U of M and got my masters’ degree at St. Thomas.
TC: Where’s your favorite place outside of school?
CN: Sitting at a soccer stadium in London watching Queen Park Ranger get destroyed.
TC; What is your most recent ticket you got and Why?
CN: In 2003 for speeding on Maryland Ave.
TC: So how fast were you going then?
CN: The cop said 50 mph but the cop was a jerk.
TC: Okay…. so what’s your favorite movie?
CN: Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
TC: So you’ve been teaching for 14 years, who’s your favorite student?
CN; I don’t have a favorite student. I dislike them all equally.
So when you’re feeling down Mr. Nelson can turn that frown upside down.
